Titans' Treylon Burks 2023 NFL season props, odds off board at sportsbooks after receiver carted off practice field with injury

The Titans may have an injury problem with Treylon Burks.

It has been one of those NFL days where there's been a lot of injury news – Miles Sanders, Russell Gage and Marlon Humphrey are among those facing issues. Add second-year Titans wideout Treylon Burks to the list. The No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 draft was carted off from Tennessee's joint practice in Minnesota on Wednesday with an apparent leg injury. The various sportsbooks have taken down any individual props on Burks.

According to reports, the former Arkansas star caught a deep pass from quarterback Ryan Tannehill – while the Titans were practicing among themselves – but went down while approaching the end zone. Burks got up and spiked the ball in anger but wasn't putting pressure on his left leg. He was helped off the field by members of the Titans training staff before sitting on the ground by a medical tent and was eventually carted away. There's no word yet on his prognosis.

Was Burks a disappointment last year? He had 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown in 11 games, so if you compare him to, say, fellow 2022 first-round wideouts like the Jets' Garrett Wilson and Saints' Olave, then yes, but injuries were a factor and that Tennessee offense wasn't exactly a high-powered unit overall – and still ground-oriented with Derrick Henry. Only two Titans receivers had 100-yard games: Burks vs. Green Bay, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine vs. Denver.

By all accounts, Burks has been very impressive in training camp in working alongside new addition DeAndre Hopkins, with Burks saying he's much more confident and in better shape than he was at this time last year. He also battled some asthma issues.

Here were the Burks season props I could find (some now down):

    • To lead NFL in receiving yards: +8000
    • To lead NFL in receiving TDs: +10000
    • To lead NFL in receptions: +10000
    • Over/Under 55.5 receptions: Under -130 favorite
    • O/U 777.5 Receiving Yards: Under -130 favorite
    • O/U 4 Receiving TDs: Both -110

Tennessee is currently a 3-point underdog for Week 1 in New Orleans, which will be without suspended Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara. The SportsLine Projection Model forecasts Burks for 2.6 catches, 38 yards and 0.14 TDs.
