The 2022 NHL Heritage Classic takes place Sunday at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario as the Toronto Maple Leafs become the last of the seven current Canadian teams to participate when they face the Buffalo Sabres. The opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. ET. Toronto (37-16-5) has won two of its three regular-season outdoor games while Buffalo (19-32-8) seeks its first victory in three such contests.

Toronto is the -320 favorite (risk $320 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Maple Leafs vs. Sabres odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while Buffalo is a +250 underdog. The over-under for total goals scored is set at 6.5 (see the latest lines for every game on our NHL odds page).

Before making any Sabres vs. Maple Leafs picks, you NEED to see the latest NHL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NHL game 10,000 times. The proprietary computer model entered Week 22 a profitable 109-89 on all top-rated NHL picks this season, with a strong 89-66 record on top-rated NHL money-line picks, returning over $900 for $100 players. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Toronto is 2-1 in outdoor games as it defeated Detroit in the 2014 Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor and the 2017 Centennial Classic at BMO Field in Toronto before losing to Washington in the 2018 Stadium Series at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The Maple Leafs, who are 2-0-1 in their last three games, will be without Jack Campbell on Sunday, however, as the All-Star goaltender is expected to miss at least two weeks with a rib injury he aggravated in Tuesday's 6-4 victory against Seattle. Auston Matthews is among the top offensive players in the NHL this season as he leads the league with 44 goals, including seven during his four-game streak, and ranks in the top 10 with 76 points.

The model also knows Buffalo lost both of its previous outdoor appearances, falling to Pittsburgh at Ralph Wilson Stadium in the 2008 Winter Classic and the New York Rangers at Citi Field in Queens, NY in the event 10 years later. The Sabres, who have won three of their last five contests, are led offensively by Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner, who share the team lead with 23 goals apiece. Thompson has registered a career-high 42 points, putting him one ahead of Skinner for first on the club.

Now, the model has set its sights on Maple Leafs vs. Sabres. We can tell you it's leaning Over on the goal total, and it also says one side of the money line has all the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NHL picks of your own.
