Dr. Bowers, a Doctor of Physical Therapy currently practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting on northeast side of Columbus, Ohio, completed his undergraduate work at Siena Heights University. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Toledo.

He is currently employed by Athletico Physical Therapy and treats a high volume of high school and collegiate athletes in the clinical setting. He's worked previously for a host of different websites serving as an injury analyst, publishing weekly columns, appearing on podcasts and radio shows to provide injury content.

He's broken down some of the most notable injuries heading into Week 8 and here's what he had to say about Matt Ryan's (ankle) outlook. 

"On Monday, Ryan underwent an MRI to evaluate the structural integrity of the soft tissue structures in the ankle: muscles, ligaments and tendons," Dr. Bowers said. "He was unable to practice on Wednesday; however, head coach Dan Quinn believes there is still a chance Ryan plays this weekend. The quarterback would need to see some sort of increase in practice participation today and tomorrow if he stands any chance to play on Sunday. Re-injury risk is moderate."
