Dr. Bowers, a Doctor of Physical Therapy currently practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting on northeast side of Columbus, Ohio, completed his undergraduate work at Siena Heights University. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Toledo. He is currently employed by Athletico Physical Therapy and treats a high volume of high school and collegiate athletes in the clinical setting. He's worked previously for a host of different websites serving as an injury analyst, publishing weekly columns, appearing on podcasts and radio shows to provide injury content.

We can tell you Dr. Bowers believes Todd Gurley (knee) should be good to against the Cardinals this weekend, but is concerned that swelling could be an issue. 

"Gurley's inflammation is not due to a structural malady, which is good news, so long as it subsides and does not linger," Dr. Bowers said. "Persistent swelling impacts range of motion and strength of the joint so effective reduction of the inflammation is important to restore overall function. The main risk he will run by playing through this issue is an increase in swelling/inflammation within the knee."
