The Fantasy baseball season is in full swing which means you'll need to keep a close eye on which pitchers provide your team the most value throughout the entire season. You'll need to know which of your pitchers are untouchable and which could easily be replaced.
That's why you'll definitely want to check out the top plate discipline pitchers to monitor from renowned Fantasy baseball expert Ariel Cohen. Cohen is the creator of the ATC (Average Total Cost) Projection System. He was a finalist for two FSWA Awards in 2018 -- Baseball Article of the Year and Baseball Writer of the Year. Cohen and his Fantasy partner, Reuven Guy, have used the ATC system projections to finish in the money in several NFBC, RTSports, Tout Wars and other national leagues, racking up several division titles. If there's anybody who knows what it takes to win a league, it's him.
Now, he's done an in-depth analysis of the top plate discipline pitchers you should be monitoring. One we'll give away: White Sox pitcher Jace Fry (.383 wPDI in 2018).
"Fry finished last season as the White Sox stopper," Cohen said. "On the surface, his 4.38 ERA doesn't look too thrilling, although that might have been the product of some bad luck. His BABIP for example, was an unlucky .277. He was able to limit free passes, and his full season WHIP landed on a respectable 1.11... Fry started 2019 with two rough outings and a mediocre wPDI of .336. In just an inning and a third, he has already been roughed up for three earned runs, walking two and striking out just one batter. He is hoping that his poor second half in '18 doesn't carry over to this season, and that he can return to be an elite plate discipline pitcher. He's worth monitoring."
Cohen has also identified three additional pitchers you should monitor moving forward. Adding these pitchers to your roster could be the difference between winning your league or going home with nothing.
