It didn’t take long for the first surprise of the SEC season to take place.

Mississippi State manhandled No. 12 LSU 37-7 in Starkville last week, gaining 463 yards while allowing just 264.

The Bulldogs were 7.5-point home underdog for that game.

They vaulted from unranked in the Associated Press polls to No. 17, but they don’t get much time to celebrate.

SPORTSLINE: WEEK 4 BIG TEN PROJECTIONS

MSU travels to No. 11 Georgia in what is now an early season SEC showdown.

Georgia is 2-0 under true freshman QB Jake Fromm, as presumed starter Jacob Eason heals from a sprained knee.

Initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks, Eason is back and practicing this week, but it looks like Fromm will get the starting nod again.

The SEC last week also provided the season’s most-thrilling end to a game -- for Florida fans, at least.

The Gators stunned Tennessee 26-20, winning with a 63-yard TD pass on the game’s final play.

Tennessee gets the opportunity to lick its wounds when it hosts Massachusetts, while Florida travels to upstart Kentucky for a prime time game. The Wildcats haven’t beaten the Gators in 30 years, the longest active streak by one team over another in Division I.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulated college football games 10,000 times and came up with final scores and projected player statistics. Only games involving two Football Bowl Subdivision teams are featured.

Below are the matchups for Week 4 of the SEC, with projected final scores and statistics. Note: Projections are updated every 10 minutes.
