The two previous winners broke lengthy PGA Tour slumps, and many will be trying to follow suit when the 2021 Bermuda Championship tees off Thursday at Port Royal Golf Club. Brian Gay will tee off as the defending champion, and the 48-year-old got his first PGA Tour victory since 2013 in Port Royal last season. Brendon Todd broke a five-year drought when he won the inaugural event in 2019. That means someone from the 2021 Bermuda Championship field made up mostly of up-and-coming stars and aging veterans have a golden chance at hoisting a trophy.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Matt Fitzpatrick as the 14-1 favorite in its latest 2021 Bermuda Championship golf odds, with Christiaan Bezuidenhout the second choice at 16-1. Among the other notable players expected to contend from the 2021 Bermuda Championship field are former Masters champion Patrick Reed (20-1) and Chilean rising star Mito Pereira (25-1).

Before you consider your bets on the 2021 Bermuda Championship or make any PGA Tour predictions, be sure you see what proven golf insider Sal Johnson has to say.

The media legend has broken down the field and has revealed his top Bermuda Championship picks below. With his track record on picks, you'll really want to see who he is backing.

The esteemed golf insider has been around the game for many years and knows what it takes to win. Before last week's Zozo Championship outside Tokyo, Johnson tabbed Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets.

"You know he is looking to showcase his game in front of the home crowd," the golf expert told SportsLine of the Japanese star. "This could be his personal U.S. Open."

He was right on the money. Matsuyama, already a hero in his home country after winning the Masters in March, fired a final-round 65 that included an eagle from 8 feet on the final hole. He trailed by one with eight holes to play on Sunday and won by five strokes.

Johnson is off to a strong start this season. Before the Shriners, he tabbed both Sungjae Im and Matthew Wolff among his players to watch. Im shot a 9-under 62 in the final round for a comfortable four-shot win, and Wolff finished as runner-up, his first top-10 finish in almost exactly a year.

The previous week at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Johnson nailed Sam Burns as his winner. Anyone who has followed Johnson's advice has cashed in HUGE!

Now Johnson, the first producer of "Inside the PGA Tour," a longtime ABC Sports golf producer who worked with Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, and founder of the world's top golf stats database, has released his highly confident 2021 Bermuda Championship picks, and they will surprise you. Shockingly, the golf expert is fading Fitzpatrick, who is the favorite at Caesars Sportsbook! The Englishman won at Valderrama two weeks ago and will be making his first tour start this season. He had as many missed cuts as top-10's in the last campaign (five) and didn't make the top 25 in his final four tour events. He might take some time to adjust, and Johnson has several other golfers you can't afford to overlook this week

Instead, the golf expert is backing a HUGE long shot who comes in at well over 60-1! This veteran has had some big successes in windy conditions over the course of his career. And while his recent results haven't been notable, he has been known to win when least expected. He could pull off a SHOCKING result this week, and anyone who backs this underdog could cash in HUGE!
