The Colorado Avalanche won the Presidents' Trophy last season with 82 points and the Boston Bruins earned a league-leading 100 in 2019-20, a campaign that also was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tampa Bay was first in the NHL in 2018-19, the last full 82-game season, with a franchise-record 128 points. That is the fourth-highest point total in NHL history, four shy of the all-time mark set by the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens.
