Allan Bell is joined by John Bollman, Micah Roberts and Gene Menez on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for the Kentucky Derby, NBA playoffs and MLB for Saturday, May 7, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.

It's Kentucky Derby Day, and there are tons of other events on tap after a day of postponements across MLB on Friday. Gene goes over how the odds could end up for the Kentucky Derby after Friday's Kentucky Oaks. Combo bets on the two races show that Epicenter could become the post-time favorite and bettors could get better value on Zandon, who opened as the 3-1 top choice. The track also should be fast after weather forecasts predicting heavy rain Friday didn't pan out.

Allan kicks off the picks with three SportsLine Plays of the Day, and he offers an NBA pick from the SportsLine Projection Model. The proprietary model likes the Under (225.5) on Grizzlies vs. Warriors (8:30 p.m. ET), with the total going under in 67 percent of its simulations.

The model also has a strong play on the total in the Celtics vs. Bucks matchup (3:30 p.m. ET), going with the Over (212.5). It is hitting in 64 percent of the model's simulations. The last play is an NBA prop pick, and it is Grayson Allen Over 10.5 points (-105). The model projects him at 12.4 points, and he has topped 10.5 in four of his last five games.

Micah has an NBA parlay, taking Milwaukee to top the Celtics and the Warriors to beat the Grizzlies (+153). Allen is one of the reasons for that, as he gets more involved with Khris Middleton out. "You need some of that outside shooting, and he's shown to be effective as a three-point shooter and, you know, can be a game-changer," Roberts says.

Bollman goes with two MLB picks, taking the Blue Jays -140 against the Guardians (2:10 p.m. ET), because Cleveland is 2-11 against teams with a winning record this season. John also is backing the Giants -145 against the Cardinals (7:15 p.m. ET). Logan Webb is starting for San Francisco, and he has been outstanding at home and should have a lot of success against the Cards' right-handed hitters.

Gene has a bevy of Kentucky Derby Day picks, and he has Smile Happy (20-1) as his long shot and Zandon (3-1) to win in the marquee race. He also offers his Oaks/Derby double and trifecta picks. He has a confident pick in Race 8, the Derby City Distaff, going with an exacta that keys the 3 horse (Center Aisle), boxed with 4 (Kimari), 5 (Obligatory) and 7 (Edgeway).

Menez also has a Pick 3 on Races 10-12, and he is high on clear favorite Jackie's Warrior and Cezanne in Race 10 (Churchill Downs Stakes). In Race 11 (Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic), he is fading the favored Sheril's Speight, and he advises bettors to visit SportsLine for picks from the experts on every stakes race.
