Bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are hammering the Over on LSU's win total for the 2022 college football season.

Earlier today, we posted that the school taking the most Under action on its win total for the 2022 college football season at Caesars Sportsbook was Texas (down to 8.5). On the flip side, bettors are quite optimistic about Brian Kelly's first year at LSU. No team is taking heavier Over action (or overall action) than the Tigers at 7 wins with 91.7% of the tickets and 82.5% of the handle.

LSU finished 6-7 last season under Ed Orgeron and Brad Davis and was a combined 11-12 in two seasons since winning the 2019 national title in dominant fashion.

Kelly has yet to say who his starting quarterback will be this year between Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels and redshirt freshman Garrett Nussmeier. Daniels started 29 games at ASU and threw for 6,024 yards with 45 total touchdowns. Nussmeier has never started a collegiate game but did see the field a bit last year for the Tigers. Another potential contender, Myles Brennan, decided to retire from football.

Whoever lines up under center, he will have one of the nation's top wideouts in Kayshon Boutte, who was named first-team preseason All-American by the Associated Press. In six games in 2021, Boutte caught 38 passes for 509 yards and nine touchdowns.

ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) has the Tigers favored to win nine of their 12 regular-season games. They are underdogs Oct. 1 at Auburn (LSU given 42.6% chance of winning), Nov. 5 vs. Alabama (18.5% of winning) and No. 26 at Texas A&M (44.5%). LSU is a 3-point favorite for Sunday's season opener against Florida State in New Orleans.

Nebraska (7.5) has received the second-most bets overall on its win total behind LSU, but the action was split almost evenly with 50.2% of the tickets on the Under and 51.9% of the handle on the Over. Nebraska was the only college football win total at Caesars Sportsbook that captured at least $30,000 on both its Over and Under.

The Over isn't looking so great at the moment in the wake of the Huskers' brutal 31-28 loss in Ireland to Northwestern on Saturday as a double-digit favorite. Coach Scott Frost is now on the hottest seat in the country.
