NHL superstars Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid face off in Edmonton on Tuesday.

The NHL's best individual rivalry is renewed on Tuesday night when Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs visit Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in a matchup of superstar former No. 1 overall picks, Hart Trophy winners and goalscoring champions. Both will also captain a team at next month's All-Star Game. The Oilers enter on a franchise-record 10-game winning streak and are -150 on the SportsLine consensus.

It's fair to say that firing head coach Jay Woodcroft in mid-November and replacing him with Kris Knoblauch was a smart move for the Oilers as they were 3-9-1 under Woodcroft and now 20-6 under Knoblauch. They secured their 10th straight win Saturday, a 2-1 overtime victory in Montreal. The win tied a team record with an eighth straight road win, first set in the 1986-87 season.

The Oilers, who also had an eight-game winning streak earlier under Knoblauch, are the 26th different NHL franchise to post a winning streak of at least 10 games. The Coyotes/Jets, Stars/North Stars, Red Wings, Kings, Kraken (currently on a nine-game streak) and Jets/Thrashers are the only franchises to have never done so.

"It's a great little streak we've got going," said Leon Draisaitl, who had the regulation goal vs. Montreal. "There was a lot of wins in this organization for a long time, so it's kind of hard to believe that they never won 10 games in a row back then with the teams they had. But we'll obviously take it and it's something that no one can take from us from now on and we're just looking to continue that."

Draisaitl joined Jari Kurri (10), Glenn Anderson (10), Mark Messier (10), Wayne Gretzky (9) and Ryan Smyth (8) as the sixth player in Oilers history with at least eight career 20-goal campaigns. He is also one of five players in franchise history to achieve the feat in eight consecutive seasons.

McDavid had an assist on the game-winning OT goal and has at least one point in all 10 games of the current run, his 14th career point streak of double-digit length. He is one of four players in NHL history with at least 14 such streaks in their career, joining Gretzky (31), Guy LaFleur (15) and Mario Lemieux (14). McDavid is the 19th player in NHL history (sixth active) to collect a point in every contest of a winning streak of 10 or more games. For Tuesday, he is set at over/under 1.5 points with Over a -125 favorite.

The Canadian McDavid is not favored to win the Hart Trophy as league MVP for a fourth time. McDavid is +275 for the honor slightly behind Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon (+210) with Matthews, the 2021-22 winner, at +1200. The American is a -225 favorite to win the Rocket Richard Trophy as the NHL's top goalscorer for the third time (2020-21 and '21-22) as he leads the league with 33 goals and is the -115 favorite for an anytime goal Tuesday.

This will be the 17th regular-season meeting between the stars with Matthews and the Leafs leading 11-3-2. Matthews has 11 goals and five assists in the previous 16, while McDavid has eight goals and 17 assists.

FanDuel has some interesting yes-only props on Tuesday's game:
