If you take out the horrible inning in Korea, the Dodgers starter has been pretty damn good. Could be more efficient but his stuff is nasty and the Snakes haven't hit the ball like I thought they would and I like some of these righty Dodgers bats against Jordan Montgomery - a high-end starter who is still trying to make up for all the lost time as a free agent during spring training
The D-Backs switching from Zac Gallen to Jordan Montgomery here is interesting with Gallen's hammy a little tight and Monty only a few outings back after a loooong free agency (thanks Boras!). Will Smith is 2/4 vs this lefty starter and his slashline vs lefties this season: .457/.524/.714. Yikes. The forgotten man in the Dodgers loaded lineup is have a nice season again at the plate, batting .362. Has a 5-game hitting streak with 11 total hits in that span. Recently had back-to-back four hit games.
Only 9 left on our board is at DraftKings, and runs should be at a premium with Yoshinobu Yamamoto (0.00 ERA in two road starts) opposed by Jordan Montgomery -- Monty was supposed to pitch last night but was scratched when the game was delayed for a while at the start due to a hive of bees behind home plate. Reminds of a Little League game I had canceled due to bats (the vampiric kind not the hitting instrument).
Yoshinobu Yamamoto's xERA is in line with his 3.54 ERA, and he possesses the best Called/Swinging Strike% on the board today, at better than 34%!! He's generated whiffs at a solid rate to both sides of the plate and struck out 37 batters in 28 innings. Yamamoto has exceeded this line in four straight starts as he's begun to settle in, and even in the one "full start" where he missed the over on this line, he had five Ks in five innings (68 pitches) against the Cardinals. On paper, Arizona isn't a great matchup for strikeouts but the Nationals and Padres were also tougher matchups and he went over this line in those outings. At +115 on DK, I'll happily take a shot!
