Managers want their starting pitchers to go five innings at least so they can qualify for the win and also help save the bullpen. That's my thinking here on Irvin and he has gone at least five in each start this year -- six in the past two. He also pitched well and went six last September when he most recently faced LA. Get through the first inning unscathed against the top of that Dodgers lineup, and I feel pretty good about this.
