If you are a regular you know we back Bobby Miller around here. Kid is a thing. Struggled in Wrigley but that happens. He will find this ballpark, start time and opposing lineup more to his liking. Fighting his his spot in rotation once injured arms start coming back. I project this outing to look more like ghis first of the season.
Miller was bad last time out, getting bounced by the Cubs after just 1 2/3 innings. The Cubs' powerful on-base machine is much different than the Twins, though, who rarely walk, haven't hit for much power and are second in strikeout rate at 28.2% this year. Miller has struck out 14 in his 7 2/3 innings this year and the Twins have never seen him. With his nasty stuff, he'll feast on them.
The Dodgers have been good to us this series but it's the end of a six-game trip and a natural letdown spot, while the Twins try to avoid the sweep. LA rookie Bobby Miller can dominate or be lit up and we have seen one of both this season. No Will Smith in the Dodgers lineup and dating to last season, they just aren't the same without him.
Though the Dodger offense has cooled off slightly on this road trip, only once this season has LA been held beneath four runs, and the Blue enters this Wednesday matinee on a 9-2 "over" run. We don't expect Twins starter Chris Paddack (so-so in his 2024 debut vs. the Brewers last week) to keep Dodger bats in check, though we're hardly convinced that Bobby Miller (routed by the Cubs in his last start on Friday) is going to shackle the Minnesota offense, either, as this rematch of the '65 World Series concludes its series. Play Dodgers-Twins "Over"
We are getting a great price and number on this outs prop for Bobby Miller who had a terrible outing in his last appearance against the Cubs after pitching phenomenally in his debut outing. Miller is just 24 years old and is going to like be inconsistent, however he is extremely talented, and he gets to face a Twins lineup that is dead last in OPS versus opposing righties. I really like his chances of bouncing back and getting at least 5.1 innings in.
The Twins have been abysmal vs right handed pitchers this year, with league-worst run production stats and one of the highest strikeout rates at greater than 27%. Miller began last start by disposing of the Cubs hitters in short order, and all by strikeout. He then unraveled in the second inning while throwing a bunch of pitches from the stretch and not getting close calls in deep counts. Weather looks promising for pitchers and even with some regulars back in the Twins' lineup, Miller should see quite a few lefties which is his stronger strikeout side.
