The Virginia Cavaliers will try to build on a close victory when they face the 25th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday night in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals. The Cavaliers (19-12, 12-8) held off 11th-seeded Louisville for a 51-50 on Wednesday, despite not making a single three-pointer. The Tar Heels (23-8, 15-5) last played Saturday, when they upset No. 4 Duke 94-81 in Mike Krzyzewski's final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m. at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Tar Heels are the 4.5-point favorite in the latest Virginia vs. North Carolina odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the Over-Under is set at 133.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page).

Before you make any North Carolina vs. Virginia picks, you NEED to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated an impressive profit of almost $1,600 for $100 players on its top-rated college basketball picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows the Tar Heels have been surging, winning 11 of their last 13 games, including the stunning result against the Blue Devils. Armando Bacot scored 23 points and the Tar Heels shot 59 percent in the second half. The Tar Heels had four 20-point scorers for the first time in program history, with Caleb Love adding 22, R.J. Davis scoring 21 and Brady Manek 20. UNC's weakness has been on the defensive end, but the Cavaliers score just 63.6 points per game (332nd in Division I) while the Heels score 78.6 (28th).

The model has taken into consideration that the Cavaliers have a strong pair of big men and will slow the tempo against the Tar Heels. Francisco Caffaro (7-foot-1) and Kadin Shedrick (6-11) will battle Bacot, and UVA ranks 358th nationally in adjusted tempo (59.5) and 15th in the ACC (59.8), according to KenPom. That's why opponents are scoring just 60.4 points per game against the Cavs, 12th-lowest in the nation. Jayden Gardner is the team's top scorer at 15.3 points per game and also averages 6.8 rebounds.

Now, the model has broken down the Virginia vs. North Carolina matchup from every angle and revealed its results. We can tell you the model is leaning Over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in more than 60 percent of simulations!
