2024 NFL Mock Draft: Five trades as Patriots and Giants move down, plus best value plays in betting market

The draft is just two weeks away, and it's important to expect the unexpected

The 2024 NFL Draft is getting closer and closer, with only two weeks to go until the Bears officially select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick. As for what will happen following that pick, Jayden Daniels is a -165 favorite to go No. 2 overall, which is an indication that there's still plenty of uncertainty past the first pick. The Commanders could take Daniels, Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy, or even trade out of the No. 2 slot for a haul of picks if they get the right offer.

Two weeks after sharing our market-based mock draft, I'm back to share my first mock draft of the season, which includes five trades in Round 1. Those swaps include the Patriots trading out of No. 3 rather than selecting a quarterback, and the Giants trading down from No. 6. You can find which teams are moving up into the top six as well as the other three trades below.

I'm also including throughout the mock where I think the best opportunities are for attacking the betting market before things solidify further. Some of these plays won't align with my mock draft, but those are opportunities where I feel the market is putting too much confidence in the top option in those props. Let's get into the picks.

What team is projected to trade up to No. 3 for a quarterback? And what do the Giants get for trading down from No. 6? ... Join SportsLine right now to see the first 2024 NFL Mock Draft from SportsLine's No. 1 NFL expert!
