For the second time this season both the Guardians and Athletics will see today’s starters in Ross Stripling and Tanner Bibee. Stripling is winless in his first four starts, but may get early run support today. Bibee had command issues with five walks against the As his first start. Additionally, the Guardians have had to win in extra innings each of his last two starts. Grab the value here on the As.
That A's starter has big problems in the middle of this Guardians lineup and so too will the bullpen arms. Naylor is an emotional player who is on a heater and loves to fire up the home crowd. Won't be a lazy Sunday from him. Five of his six HRs have come at home and his spits vs Ross Stripling are pretty bonkers. He's not above blatantly chasing a longball by any means
Josh Naylor has 15 RBIs in his last 15 games, the Guardians offense is looking more productive than its been in years and Ross Striping has struggled in small sample size against them. Naylor is 5/6 with a HR against him, for instance. The A's do have maybe a few more things going for them than I thought, but this starter is not among them. Naylor is running hot these days and setting an emotional tone for this resurgent lineup and I anticipate multiple ABs with runners on base.
I like the Guardians at home here with Tanner Bibee on the bump. He was very good last year and he's looked better of late. Middle of the CLE lineup could do some serious damage here at Josh Naylor and Jose Ramire have some bigtime splits against Ross Stripling. A's went on a little run but this is a very flawed team and I don't think Striping goes very deep in this one. Lot of arms to knock around in that bullpen.
