Have you seen this guy mash lately? Did you see Hunter Brown pitch at all this season or last?
Olson was out his mind at this point a year ago and this start ha been far more tepid but Hunter Brown should bring out his inner beast. The lefty/righty power match up against a kid starter who throws more than pitches and gets caught in predictable velo counts is just want Olson needs to get going. Giving us good value here for a proven run producer in what I believe is the best lineup in basseball
Hunter Brown gave up nine runs while recording just two outs in his last start, and now he has to face the top scoring offense in the majors. That's not a recipe for working out the issues that have caused him to give up at least five earned runs in five of his last seven starts dating back to last season. Reynaldo Lopez has pitched well on the other side, but even if he regresses today I like the Braves offense to outslug the Astros here.
Ronald Acuna Jr. hasn't homered yet this season and it isn't concerning. In fact, he's due, so I'm going to put a sprinkle on him going deep today. Hunter Brown was ravaged last time out and looks broken. Acuna went 2 for 3 with two doubles vs. him last year and the Crawford Boxes are enticing. Acuna is 7 for his last 16 with two doubles, so he's getting locked in. He'll go deep soon. Why not tonight?
Between two great offenses, ATL has the edge here with its pitching advantage. Reynaldo Lopez has started his Braves career with two quality starts in two appearances. He's improved his sequencing and is mixing in a curveball more often. The Stros' Hunter Brown made MLB history for the wrong reason in his last outing, giving up nine earned runs on 11 hits in less than 1 IP.
We have cashed easy all season fading the Stros when Hunter Brown is on the mound and he's coming off an historically bad outing in the 1st last time out. I though the manager hung him out to dry when he had nothing, and this Brave lineup can be relentless. Kid's confidence might be crushed. Stros pen has been rough
