Familiar foes match up in a Sweet 16 showdown when the fifth-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs square off against top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers for the second time this season on Friday. In the first meeting on Nov. 20, Purdue secured a 73-63 win. The Bulldogs (27-7) are making their 26th NCAA Tournament appearance and 25th in a row, not counting 2020 when there was no tournament held due to the coronavirus. The Boilermakers (31-4) are making their 35th NCAA appearance and ninth in a row.

Tipoff at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit is scheduled for 7:39 p.m. ET. The Boilermakers are 5-point favorites in the latest Gonzaga vs. Purdue odds, while the over/under for total points scored is 154.5.

Before making any Gonzaga vs. Purdue picks or NCAA Tournament predictions, you need to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model. (See up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page.)

The model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. It enters the Sweet 16 round of the 2024 NCAA tournament on a 152-109 roll on all top-rated college basketball picks dating back to last season, returning more than $1,800 for $100 players. It also has a strong 32-21 (+890) record on top-rated spread picks this season, and it called 13 Sweet 16 teams this year. Anyone following has seen HUGE returns!

The model knows senior center Zach Edey continues to dominate the opposition, registering his fifth consecutive double-double and 26th of the year in Sunday's win over Utah State. He also poured in 30 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in a 78-50 win over Grambling in the first round on Friday.

But the model also has taken into account the Bulldogs, who have won 11 of their past 12 games, are led by junior forward Graham Ike, who nearly registered a double-double in the big win over Kansas in the second round. In that game, he poured in 15 points, while grabbing nine rebounds. In the first round 86-65 win over McNeese, he had 16 points and 10 rebounds. In 34 games, all starts, he is averaging 16.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in 24 minutes.

For Friday, the model has set its sights on Gonzaga vs. Purdue. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the point total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in almost 60% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see the model before locking in any college basketball picks.
