While the Irish bringing a freshman quarterback into a tough environment is concerning, there is a lot of pressure tonight on this Canes team. Tons of pro alumni are in town and all of the talk is about The U being "back." That's good for confidence, but it's also quite a standard to live up to. Miami did beat Virginia Tech handily last week, but it also squeaked out a win over terrible North Carolina and only beat Syracuse by a single possession despite being gifted five turnovers in the game. Notre Dame is one of nation's most talented teams, and it has a defense that can take advantage of Malik Rosier. The turnover chain is a fun gimmick, and while The U is "back" in terms of national relevance, unlike Notre Dame, I don't believe it's a national title contender. Tried to wait and get the field goal spread, but I'll take the 3.5, which is still under the key number of 4.
Miami might struggle to slow down Josh Adams early in this game, but I like the Hurricanes to cover +3.5 at home. Malik Rosier will do enough on the ground and through the air to keep the Canes within in the number. My simulations make Miami +1 underdogs and by gut says they win outright. Take the points!
