The Cowboys have quietly bounced back from a couple of tough-luck early losses and have improved each week. The biggest difference is the development of a run game, which gained 230 yards in last week’s win over Kansas, to provide balance and avoid becoming one-dimensional. West Virginia forced three turnovers in its rout of TCU last week, but the Mountaineers remain perhaps the least impressive undefeated team in the country. They have escaped disaster a couple times, but look for a loss today on the road against a more complete Oklahoma State team.

The Cowboys have scored at least 38 points in all but two games and I expect an inspired effort in Stillwater against the undefeated Mountaineers. In my computer simulations, Oklahoma State is covering 60 percent of the time and winning outright 53 percent of the time.

On paper this looks like a trap game for West Virginia, but I don't think the Mountaineers will have a lapse in focus. The big question is whether the Cowboys can move the ball consistently against a revamped and confident WVU defense, and I doubt they can.
