Fantasy RB committee shuffle: Changing roles and usage trends ahead of Week 3
Fantasy analyst Matt Franciscovich takes a look at which backfields could make or break your Fantasy team in Week 3.
A crowded backfield can quickly diminish a running back's Fantasy value. And before you try and determine which running back will receive the bulk of the carries moving forward, you need to see SportsLine Fantasy analyst Matt Franciscovich's breakdown of some of the most fluid running back committees heading into Week 3.
Franciscovich, spent four seasons at NFL Network as on-camera talent and as a writer/editor, appearing on NFL Fantasy Live, Fantasy & Friends, and NFL Pick'Em. He has years of experience handing out league-winning advice, so if there's anybody who can help you win your league, it's him.
One thing we can tell you heading into Week 3: Franciscovich says 49ers running back Matt Breida remains a low-end RB2 against the Steelers.
"Looking to Week 3, San Francisco are home favorites against the Steelers, who have allowed the ninth-most FPPG to opposing backs so far this season," Franciscovich told SportsLine. "Pittsburgh gave up some extremely efficient performances to the Patriots' backfield committee in Week 1 and were gashed by the one-two punch of Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny for nearly 150 scrimmage yards in Week 2. The matchup this week makes Mostert an add on waivers, while Breida can confidently be started as a low-end RB2."
Franciscovich has also identified a running back that you should completely avoid in Week 3, and makes the call on which RB will be the most reliable in New England's crowded backfield.
