We've officially entered what many sports fans might call "the lull" as the calendar flips to July, with only one of the four major sports leagues in action. However, that doesn't mean there's nothing to make wagers on. Tuesday brings a 15-game MLB slate, the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final and Club World Cup knockout games, giving fans plenty of contests to follow.

Best MLB bets today

St. Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh Pirates (-168, 7.5): 6:40 p.m. ET

The Pirates have won four in a row and are favored to make it five when they host the Cardinals Tuesday. Andrew Heaney pitched a gem in the series opener Monday, throwing 6 2/3 shutout innings and fanning seven in a 7-0 victory for Pittsburgh. Things won't get much easier for St. Louis Tuesday with Paul Skenes heading to the mound for the Pirates. Though Skenes is just 4-7, he has a 2.12 ERA and 0.91 WHIP, ranking fourth and fifth in the majors in those respective categories. The SportsLine model does like the Cardinals on the run line in this matchup, with St. Louis +1. 5 receiving an "A" grade.

Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners (-139, 8.5): 9:40 p.m. ET

Seattle won the series opener Monday thanks to a strong effort from George Kirby, who gave up just one run in six innings of work. The Mariners have fallen out of first place in the AL West, though they have won two in a row and the SportsLine model gives them a great chance to extend that winning streak Tuesday. The Royals are sending Michael Lorenzen (4-8, 4.91 ERA) to the mound and he had a tough June, surrendering 18 earned runs in five outings. The model rates Mariners money line as an "A" grade play.

Best WNBA bets today

Indiana Fever at Minnesota Lynx (-6.5, 164.5): 8 p.m. ET

Though Caitlin Clark is officially listed as questionable after missing the last two games with a groin injury, the line suggests she'll play. The Fever superstar is averaging 18.2 points and 8.9 assists per game this season as she tries to follow up her Rookie of the Year campaign with some hardware. That'll be a tough ask against the Lynx, who sport the league's best record and have the MVP frontrunner in Napheesa Collier, who is putting up 24.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
