Micah's Past Picks
The Blue Jays have beaten the White Sox 7 straight times. The White Sox are 14-33 this year and Toronto is 20-25. The White Sox only have four road wins and 19 losses this year. The White Sox had their momentum slowed by the Yankees in a three-game sweep. But it's not like the Blue Jays are playing great ball either, they have lost four of their last six and have been sputtering all season. This is a good shot for plus money with Eric Fedde, a graduate of UNLV who has won four straight and not allowed a run in his last two. White Sox to win.
The Padres are fresh off getting swept three games by the lowly Rockies at Petco Field. The last one was a lackluster 8-0 loss to the Rockies. Braves have won six of their last eight. They've also stayed under in their last nine games. Matt Waldron has lost his last three starts giving up 14 runs. Max Fried is going to hold them down to one or two runs. Braves to win.
Cleveland has won the last three meetings with the Twins. But they've lost four of their last seven games. The Twins just lost three in a row to the Yankees and have lost four of their last five. Simeon Woods-Richardson allowed five runs in 4.1 innings of his last start. Triston McKenzie has won four of his last five starts. McKenzie has allowed only seven earned runs in his last five games. Cleveland to win.
Clarke Schmidt has won seven of his last eight starts for the Yankees, his last one was his best start of the season a 2-0 win over Tampa Bay where he went 6 and 2/3 and allowed no runs. That's seven wins, and one loss against Baltimore. I think he's got enough to beat Joe Ryan on Thursday. The Yankees have had the Twins number. And the Yankees are smoking the ball right now playing great ball, pitching and hitting. Yankees win.
The Mets are playing some terrible baseball and proved it again last night as they lost 5-4 to the Phillies. Joey Butto goes today and he's allowed eight runs in his last three starts losing two. Aaron Nola hasn't had much success against the Mets but he's having great success this season and comes off his second loss allowing four runs in five and two-thirds to the Blue Jays. Mets are having difficulties and it continues today, Phillies win.
The Diamondbacks won 6 of their last seven against the Reds. They swept the Reds last week on a four-game run before losing two at Baltimore, winning Sunday 9-2. The Reds have lost 10 of their last 11 games. They allowed five for more runs seven times during the 11 game stretch. The Reds aren't hitting and they blew a good hitting game yesterday that was 5-5 until losing. Arizona could get back to .500 with the sweep here. Diamondbacks to win.
The Royals have won 24 games and 17 losses while the Angels are 15-25. Angels come off at 9-3 win last night. Royals won the previous two. Angels are three and five in their last eight. Patrick Sandoval comes off a good start that way we get a good price today but in his previous three starts he was awful. Seth Lugo has allowed three earned runs in the last three starts. Royals to win.
The Reds have lost eight games in a row and have scored less than four runs in two of them and three runs or less in six of the games. They're struggling to hit the ball. The Giants have won two of their last seven thanks to the Phillies. Logan Webb is back home where he's had two great outings in a row over the Mets and Diamondbacks allowing one room combined at San Francisco. Giants to win.
The Nuggets are in trouble in game 3 at Minnesota. Down 0-2, the defending champions are on the brink of losing it all. The Timberwolves have covered seven of the last eight meetings. Karl Anthony Towns has been a big bonus for the TWolves. Anthony Edwards is just spectacular. There's no way for the Nuggets to find your way out. The Nuggets need to wipe their Lakers stink off. They look like the lazy Lakers. But now this is over if they can’t get back to being themselves. They won the last time they were in Minnesota so it can be done. This is a team that I think will put the gauntlet on themselves. It's do-or-die for the Nuggets. Moneyline.
The Marlins are 10 and 29 and have only one five of 20 games at home. They are minus -1887 in profit margin. Ranger Suarez has been in seven starts and he has seven wins no losses. He hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his starts and two runs or less in five of his starts. He only allows four hits a game. His wins are by 3 runs or more. The Marlins have enough trouble just winning a game let alone hitting someone like Suarez and now they have Trevor Rogers pitching who allowed eight runs in his last start. Phillies to win.
I'm taking it over. The Pacers are going to have a field day in front of the home crowd. Fast pace. It will be a very spirited game, but it doesn't mean the Pacers win. This total is about 15 points too low. The Knicks will score even if Brunson doesn't play, and chances of winning improve if he does play. Right now it's just the over.
The Rays have won six of the last 10 meetings with the Yankees but Clarke Schmidt has been dynamite this year winning six of his seven starts. And in all seven of his starts he's had this year, he hasn't allowed more than three runs. April 19th he beat the Rays 5-3 and allowed only one run. Taj Bradley makes his first start of the season. Yankees cheap today.
George Kirby is who we're backing today. He's lost two of his last three starts but has only allowed one run between the three starts. All three have gone under and that's the move here, Mariners to the under is what I'm buying. All this and the fact that Chris Paddock has won his last three starts but I'm still going with the Mariners and under with emphasis on the Under.
