Bengals LB Brooks accused of punching woman

BURLINGTON, Ky. -- A woman has accused Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Ahmad Brooks of punching her in the face last month.

Brooks was ordered to appear June 6 in Boone District Court on a complaint filed this week by Destiny Rosich. Based on the complaint, prosecutors charged Brooks with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor that carries up to a year in prison.

Rosich's complaint said Brooks got into a loud disagreement with one of her neighbors in nearby Florence on April 9. When she tried to intervene, Brooks punched her in the left eye, temporarily knocking her unconscious, the complaint said.

Police were called to the scene but didn't witness the alleged altercation. Rosich was told she could file a complaint.

A Bengals spokesman said the team had no comment because of the preliminary nature of the case.

Brooks missed most of last season with torn groin muscles. The Bengals took him in the 2006 supplemental draft, shortly before linebacker Odell Thurman began serving an NFL suspension that would last for two seasons.

Brooks played three seasons at Virginia before being kicked off the team.

Last month, the Bengals released receiver Chris Henry after he was arrested for the fifth time. Henry was one of 10 Bengals players arrested during a 14-month span from 2006-07.

If anyone remembers, Brooks was suspended from Virginia's football team a few years back for off-the-field issues, so it doesn't surprise me that he is back on the wrong side of the law.  This kid was chosen in the supplemental draft two years ago for God's sake.  The Bengals should purge their lockerroom of all these players tha ...(more)

Remember for a few year period, the Minnesota Vikings kept getting in trouble? Same thing here.  Except the Vikings took care of their problem after a couple of years, shipped out most of the players and coaches.  Now there aren't many OFF the field problems under Childress.  (However he hasn't been the greatest O ...(more)

What in the world is going on with the Bengals?! They are always getting into trouble. Why don't Marvin Lewis keep these players under wraps? If he can't start winning and keep his players off probation an out of jail, he will be finding himself a new job!

You guys had the "Bungles" title hanging over your head becuase the team culdn't draft and couldn't win for a decade, and now that the team has turned it around on the field, this is the price you're having to pay.  I can imagine it being frustrating hearing about these guys getting busted left and right.  As a ...(more)

And I dont mean in the Playoffs!!!!!

It was just a matter of time before they struck again. Unfortunately some lady had to get punched in the face to prove that the Bengals are in real trouble again.

If they traded in that horrible orange for a nice clean white color

they would be living up to the reputation they are making for their team.

It's sad because it looked like they had it all together a few years back now look this is a shell of what that team used to be

Trade ...(more)

Although I like how this player plays the game, he was a trouble maker for the Fresno State Bulldogs. I'm talking about DT Jason Shirley who the Bengals drafted this year. Jason has gotten arrested last year for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after he drove hi ...(more)
