Kenny White

Wizard of Odds

Kenny White learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24 he was running a sportsbook and at 26 he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos. A two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational, the originator of Player Power Ratings and the former head of five major Vegas companies, Kenny arrived to Sportsline armed with new algorithms, ready to exploit mistakes in the betting line. He debuted with SportsLine in February 2017 and went 51-33-2 (61 percent) on college hoops. Now get his winning MLB picks all season long! With the ball flying out of ballparks at a record pace, it's not hard finding games to go Over on. Cleveland has averaged 5.7 runs over its last seven games, going over five times in that span. Cincy is 26-15-2 to the Over this season. This is another matchup of average pitchers. Note that Josh Tomlin has allowed 42 home runs over his last 214 innings. Scott Feldman is 34 and nothing special. Go Over.

I had no doubt this total would go up! Kyle Gibson is back from the minors, and I suspect his control issues will resurface. He and Ubaldo Jimenez allow a lot of baserunners, meaning we just need a couple key hits from two pretty good hitting teams. The Orioles are averaging 6.1 runs over their last seven games. Go Over.

The Rockies put up 26 runs in a three-game series in Cincinnati, so Philadelphia's pitching and ballpark should feel rather inviting. Philadelphia averages 1.8 more runs a game at home than on the road (5.4 to 3.6). With two average pitchers tonight, I'm going Over.

Now that the Rangers' 10-game win streak has come to an end, we get a rather attractive price on Yu Darvish. If the Rangers had won yesterday, today's price could have been as high as -150. Matt Boyd would probably be out of baseball if he wasn't a lefty. His walks are up this season and I expect his ERA to be around 5.00 by year's end. Take the far better pitcher with the team that's won 10 of 11.

Tigers starter Justin Verlander still has an overpowering fastball and above-average curveball. He still has great stuff at age 34. Texas starter A.J. Griffin just knows how to win. He is 32-15 in his career, including a 4-0 mark this season. Griffin is far from overpowering though, with a fastball between 86-89 mph and throwing his curveball one out of every four pitches. Both guys are getting the job done and, with a 10-game winning streak for the Rangers on the line Saturday, it adds a little extra pressure to the hitters. Play the Under.
