The Bears have been a tricky team to evaluate, as they've lost three consecutive games in small margins. Defensively, they've been torn apart as Texas, Arizona State and San Diego State all piled up yards and points against them. Yet, last year Cal matched up well against Utah on both sides of the football. In fact, if it were not for a mistake-prone game by quarterback Jared Goff, the Bears likely would have pulled off the upset at Utah. Take the Bears.

This game is a contrast in styles. The Utes are extremely physical and balanced offensively. Cal brings an up-tempo attack. What the Bears should do is rely more on RBs Vic Enwere and Khalfani Muhammad as both average over 6 yards per carry. The Utes have picked off six passes and only given up two passing scores. They're a ball-hawking defense. I don’t think Cal will dial back on its Bear Raid passing attack and that will be a mistake.
