Rich Gannon joined CBS Sports as a game analyst for THE NFL ON CBS in August 2005 and will be teamed with Kevin Harlan. This season, he also will team with Harlan to call Green Bay Packers' pre-season games.

Gannon, whose career spanned 18 years, had his finest season in 2002 setting NFL and franchise records (completions - 418; 300-yard passing games - 10) in leading the Raiders to their third straight AFC Western Division title and advancing to Super Bowl XXXVII as the AFC Champions. That same year Gannon was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player becoming only the third Raider in team history to be named the NFL's MVP (Ken Stabler, 1974 and Marcus Allen, 1985). He also was selected to his fourth straight Pro Bowl since joining the Raiders and was the Pro Bowl's Most Valuable Player in 2001 and 2002.

Gannon is among the Raiders career leaders in pass attempts, completions, touchdown passes, passing yards and completion percentage. He ended his career with 180 touchdown passes; 2,533 completions in 4,206 attempts for 28,743 yards; and a 60.2 completion percentage. Upon retiring, he is the only player in NFL history to complete a pass to all three players with 1,000 receptions (Jerry Rice, Tim Brown and Cris Carter).

Gannon was a fourth round pick (98th overall) by the New England Patriots in the 1987 draft. He was acquired by the Vikings two weeks after the draft. After 12 seasons as a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs, Gannon joined the Oakland Raiders in 1999 where he had his best seasons in the NFL.

Gannon set 21 school records at the University of Delaware where he studied criminal justice. Born on December 20, 1965 in Philadelphia, Pa., Gannon and his wife, Shelley, and two daughters now reside in Minneapolis, Minn.
