The Phillies had a four-game win streak snapped by the slumping Anaheim Angels. But tonight the Phillies send Spencer Turnbull to the mound and he has gone four and one so far. He's allowed one run in his last two starts and he's allowed only five for the season. He's going he's going to take care of the Angels.
Bohm is becoming the impact bat the Phillies drafted him - quite high - to be and is in a real groove. He also has a homer vs Anderson already despite facing him just five teams and he is oozing confidence at the plate these days. Dude has driven in 11 in his last 5 games and 19 in his last 15 games. Anderson has been a strong candidate for regression when you study his peripherals and his good fortune might run out tonight
Anderson is having an amazing start to the season for the Angels, but this is not a lineup he wants to see. Harper has seen him 10 times and has 6 hits, half of them homers. He's surrounded by guys who also have hit Anderson well, and overall the Phillies have been producing runs the last few weeks. Harper likes being out West and this is a nice ballpark for him
I agree with Propstarz on fading Tyler Anderson to finish six innings against Philly. Played at +135 on Draftkings. In my opinion this should be closer to -120 for the under or at least at 16.5 for these juiced odds. Last start Anderson needed 105 pitches to finish five innings against the Orioles, and his starts of 6+ innings have come against the Marlins, Rays and Reds. Also played over 1.5 walks on Draftkings (-165). Anderson walked 2+ in 4/5 starts and I believe the Phillies lefties pose trouble for his walk total. The only caveat is Doug Eddings behind home plate; one of the most pitcher leaning umpires in MLB. But, I still think this line should be at 2.5 so I'm playing it.
Tyler Anderson has gotten off to a very good start for the Angels but I believe he is a major regression candidate and his current numbers simply aren't sustainable long term. The lefty will face a Phillies lineup that possesses the eighth highest OPS against southpaws, in addition to having excellent career numbers against Anderson. The Phillies bats have also been on fire lately and I like their chances of getting to Anderson in this matchup.
