Actually wasn't going to play this even with the amazing Shota Imanaga on the mound for the Cubs because I don't like their lineup without the injured Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki. In a minor surprise, Bellinger has been activated so now we roll. Luis Arraez and No. 1 catcher Luis Campusano are taking a seat for San Diego. Closer Robert Suarez is likely not available after 1.2 innings in Monday's win.
To say that Imanaga has taken the NL by storm would be an understatement. To this point now one can pick up what he's throwing or do anything against it and the Padres are running a kid starter out there who should be in their pen. He doesn't have a ton behind him and I don't bank on the Friars bats being the ones to finally figure out the Cubbies southpaw. Padres are 21st in OPS vs lefties and 25th in OBP. Cubs won 5 of his 6 starts by 3+ runs, outscoring teams 30-6. Home crowd will be behind him. He's allowed 3 ER all season.
