Surprise, surprise as Gomer Pyle, USMC used to say?the Tampa Bay Lightning lost for only the second time since the end of November in regulation in a decisive 5-1 game against the New York Islanders, who by the way, are playing fast and loose hockey, and are currently in the last wild card spot in the East. Tampa is the top dog and after this loss certainly doesn?t want to meet the Islanders in the playoffs. So, all in all, that off night is okay?and won?t likely repeat itself again tonight. Dallas continues to be scoring challenged and now faces a potent offensive juggernaut. Take Tampa Bay to dispatch Dallas as a favorite on the road.

Both these teams have veered toward the Over, and this looks like another high-potential Over game here. The line has already moved from an opening of 6.0 to 6.5, but there are 7.5 goals on average in my computer simulations. Jump all over the Over, and at a good price.

The Wild must be thrilled to be back home after yielding an uncharacteristically high seven goals in Philadelphia on Monday. Despite back-to-back games and a long flight, my projections indicate Minnesota winning this game 71 percent of the time by an average of more than one goal. Take the Wild.

The Bruins have home ice, the league?s top defensive unit, and a red-hot goalie in net (Tuukka Rask, 5-0 w/ .955 SV% in his last 5) going up against a Canadiens team that hasn?t scored more than 3 goals in a game since December 29. I like Boston in a tight, low-scoring affair, but the best bang for your buck is with the Under.
