Steelers vs. Eagles NFL Week 8 odds: Robert Quinn set for Philadelphia debut, slightly boots Super Bowl 57 chances

The Eagles come out of their bye week as the NFL's lone unbeaten.

The Philadelphia Eagles come out of their bye week on Sunday at home vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers as the NFL's lone unbeaten team. Think they will go 17-0? Oddsmakers sure don't, as Philly is +1300 at Caesars Sportsbook to do so and -3000 to lose at least once. The Eagles are 11-point favorites at the book for Sunday's game. It will be the debut of three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Quinn, acquired this week from Chicago for a fourth-round draft pick.

The Bears are in total rebuild mode, so moving Quinn made complete sense. Chicago now has a whopping $125 million or so in cap space for 2023 and that's if the team doesn't trade anyone else. They have until the Tuesday deadline to do so. The Bears will pay the bulk of Quinn's $12.8 million salary. The Eagles will have the ability to keep him for a non-guaranteed $14 million in 2023 and $13 million in 2024

Quinn set a franchise record with 18.5 sacks last season and has just one this year, but has largely been double-teamed with Khalil Mack now a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. In fact, Quinn has been doubled-teamed on 29% of his pass rushes this year, a major jump from the 19% double-team rate he faced last season.

The 32-year-old shouldn't face those same double-teams in Philly. The Eagles already have terrific defensive weapons in Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat, Javon Hargrave and Fletcher Cox. Quinn also has three quarterback hits, two tackles for losses and eight total tackles. Philadelphia has 17 sacks and 39 quarterback hits in six games

The SportsLine Projection Model had the Eagles set at 13.4 wins before the trade, and now has them at 13.6. The team's percentage chance to win Super Bowl 57 increased by +1.1% as it went from being a 48% underdog in a likely matchup vs. Buffalo or Kansas City to 50%. CBS Sports gave the Eagles a grade of A- for this deal and the Bears B-.

DraftKings has the Eagles set at 13.5 wins (Over -135 favorite) and +500 second favorites behind the Bills (+250) to win the Super Bowl. One book offers a prop on when the Eagles take their first loss. This week vs. Pittsburgh is a +400 favorite followed by Week 11 at the Colts (+450) and Week 14 or later (+450). If Philly wins Sunday, it should be 9-0 when it visits Indianapolis, as the Eagles will be solid favorites Week 9 at Houston and Week 10 vs. Washington.
