NFL Week 15 betting trends, odds: Led by Falcons-49ers, bettors hammering over totals across league except for Texans-Jaguars, Cowboys-Giants

The public has changed its collective mind when it comes to betting totals around the NFL in Week 15.

The betting public can be a fickle bunch. Unders in NFL games were on a nice roll entering Week 14, so naturally the public went bananas betting the Under in the 14 games (four clubs on the bye). However, Overs won the week 10-4 and that no doubt has played a major role in the fact Overs are taking a massive lean around the league in Week 15 led by Falcons-49ers – just two games are taking majority Under leans on tickets sold and money wagered: Texans-Jaguars and Cowboys-Giants.

This is just speculation on this writer's part, but unusually nice weather across the NFL last week may have played a role in so many Overs and it looks pretty nice for the most part this weekend. Maybe some rain in Cleveland on Saturday vs. Las Vegas.

The only total in the 50s this week was Thursday night's Chiefs-Chargers matchup, which closed at 52 and that took a massive double Over lean – and hit. The biggest double on Sunday is Atlanta at San Francisco with 99 percent of the money and 93 percent of the tickets on Over 45.5 points.

"The 49ers have been putting up a lot of points," said Adam Pullen, Assistant Director of Trading at Caesars Sportsbook. "It seems in recent years they were predominantly a defensive team, now the results show that the offense has been clicking. [George] Kittle has been great these past two weeks, they have a good running game too. The Falcons can put up some points on their best day. So I'm not surprised that this one has been getting all Over money."

Kittle is the first tight end in NFL history with consecutive games of at least 150 yards receiving and a touchdown. Atlanta is 28th in scoring defense at 27.2 ppg.

Titans at Steelers has a low total of 41.5 points and 99 percent of the money is on the Over and 80 percent of the tickets. One New Jersey bettor put down $75,000 on the Over, the largest total bet at the book so far this week at Caesars Sportsbook. Note that the Under is 15-3 in Titans road games with Ryan Tannehill as starter in the regular season.

The Toilet Bowl game of the week is Texans at Jaguars with the lowest total on the board at 39.5. Two struggling rookie QBs face off in Houston's Davis Mills and Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence, and it's the Jags' first game since firing Urban Meyer. Thus far, 99 percent of the money and 86 percent of tickets are on the Under. One bettor dropped $50,000 on the Under when it was still 41.

"The Texans and Jaguars are two teams that are anemic offensively, so it makes sense why this under has been getting so much action," Pullen said. "But you never know, when you get two bad teams against each other, things could open up. There's not a lot of room for error when you're going under a 39.5 total, and there's no weather in Jacksonville. The teams aren't that good all-around, and that could lead to some turnovers creating easy scores."

As for Cowboys at Giants, 96 percent of the money and 52 percent of tickets are on the Under 44.5 points. Six of Dallas' past seven games have gone Under after five of the first six landed Over. The Under is 9-0-1 in the Giants' past 10 home games.
