Las Vegas Raiders, NFL's only 0-3 team, now +350 on futures odds to make playoffs, new season win total of 7

The Las Vegas Raiders are the NFL's only 0-3 team.

Since expansion in 1979, only six teams to start 0-3 have made the NFL postseason, the last team to do so being the 2018 Houston Texans. None of those 0-3 clubs made the Super Bowl. The lone 0-3 team this season is the Las Vegas Raiders, led by new head coach Josh McDaniels. They are now +350 to make the playoffs at DraftKings and -500 to miss.

The Silver & Black may not actually be that bad. They lost Week 1 by just five points at the Chargers, absolutely should have won Week 2 at home against Arizona but blew a 23-7 fourth-quarter lead and lost in overtime on a fumble return touchdown, and were two-point losers on Sunday at Tennessee when a two-point PAT failed in the final minute. Those 13 combined points are the third lowest amount by any team starting 0-3 over the last 25 years.

After trading for All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, the Raiders were +175 to make the playoffs entering the season (and their odds like would have been much shorter if not for the fact that the Raiders playin the crazy-tough AFC West) and -225 to miss. Their win total was set at 8.5. Now it's at 7. Despite dealing with constant double-teams, Adams is off to a nice start with 17 catches for 189 yards and three scores. He has at least two catches in 78 straight games. It's the second-longest active streak behind Arizona's DeAndre Hopkins (84).

"Stay the course," Adams said of the 0-3 start. "Keep grinding and doing what we're doing. We just need to tweak a few things. I mean, they made a couple more better plays than us today, and this is three games that came down to the wire. You've just got to find a better way to start and learn how to finish out some of these games."

McDaniels is just 5-20 as a head coach after starting 6-0 in Denver in 2009. He is 1-10 in his last 11 games and has not won a game since Week 10 in 2010. In those 11 games, McDaniels' teams have owned a point differential of -92.

Las Vegas is an opening 2-point home favorite this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. If there's one bright spot, no team is running away early in the AFC West as every club has at least one loss. The Raiders are +1100 long shots to win it. Remember, Vegas did make the playoffs last year after Rich Bisaccia replaced Jon Gruden.
