Bears vs. Packers pick, odds, spread: Mitchell Trubisky will start at quarterback for Chicago Week 12

Mitchell Trubisky will be starting under center for Chicago at Green Bay on Sunday night.

One 5-1, the Chicago Bears enter Sunday night's matchup at bitter-rival Green Bay on a four-game losing streak and with their inept offense a laughingstock around the league. The Bears will go with Mitchell Trubisky as their quarterback at Lambeau Field but only because he's healthier than Nick Foles, who is doubtful and likely will be inactive. The Packers have dominated this rivalry for years and are 9.5-point favorites on the William Hill Sportsbook NFL odds.

The Bears enter Week 12 ranked 30th in yards per passing attempt (6.0) and total touchdowns (20), and tied for last in yards per rushing attempt (3.6).

Foles looked like he suffered a serious hip injury at the end of Chicago's 19-13 home loss on Monday night in Week 10 – the Bears were on the bye in Week 11 – but apparently that's not the case. However, he clearly was hurt enough. Presumably it will be Tyler Bray as the backup, and the Bears could activate practice squad quarterback Kyle Sloter as their third-stringer.

Foles took over for a benched Trubisky in the second half of Week 3 in Atlanta, and Foles led a 30-26 comeback victory. However, the Bears are 2-5 in his seven starts and haven't scored more than 23 points in any of them.

Trubisky did win both his starts to open this season, and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is 26-18 in his career as a starter. He had been inactive the previous two Bears games due to a shoulder injury on the one play Trubisky saw the field Week 8 vs. New Orleans. Chicago already declined Trubisky's fifth-year rookie option, so he won't be back next year regardless. Again, we remind you that GM Ryan Pace selected Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

Chicago also will get back No. 1 running back David Montgomery on Sunday. He missed Week 10 with a concussion. Montgomery is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry this year yet is the second-highest graded Bears player on offense this season, per Pro Football Focus. That tells you all you need to know about that Chicago unit.

Pro Bowl safety Eddie Jackson was put on the COVID-19 list early this week but will play. Jackson did not test positive for the coronavirus but was a close contact of someone who did. He was activated Friday.
