The Titans have made a QB change as both teams are desperate for a win. My simulations make the Chargers -0.5 favorites on the road in Nashville. Look for Rivers and Keenan Allen to lead the Chargers to at least cover the spread. Take the points.
If it wasn’t for Adam Vinatieri’s awful day in Week 1, the Chargers would have one win … over the Dolphins. That victory in Miami was the only time the Chargers have covered the spread this season, and they’re still banged up, with three defensive starters missing midweek practice. The Titans’ offense has been so bad that it couldn’t be much worse with Ryan Tannehill starting, and I think he’ll provide a spark for a team that’s allowed only 15.3 points a game. Lay the points.
Everything fixed in Tennessee after benching Marcus Mariota, right? Not even close. The playcalling on offense is consistently horrific, as they have the best turnover rate in the NFL but are only 30th in points per drive, meaning they refuse to take risks and just punt the ball away repeatedly. The Chargers aren't as bad as they typically look at 'home,' and they're fifth in yards per drive on offense, though it hasn't translated on the scoreboard. Tennessee has sported a good defense so far but has played a lot of bad teams. I think Philip Rivers leads his team to a much needed win in this matchup.
