Defenses are usually still ahead of the offenses this early in the season. Offense takes timing and timing takes repetitions. Defense is just reacting. In this matchup, we have arguably the top defense in the NFL with Chicago while Denver's defense also ranks inside the Top 10. The Broncos are lead by their new head coach Vic Fangio, who was the defensive coordinator of the Bears. Nobody knows the Chicago offense better than Fangio.

The Broncos absolutely dominate opponents at home early in the season, going 48-6 straight up at home in Weeks 1 and 2 all-time, including 22-1 since 2000. They also have a great cover rate, going 30-15-4 ATS since 1978. The Broncos defense will be at the top of their game looking to get a win for their coach against his former team, and I don't have any confidence Mitchell Trubisky will do anything on the road in a tough matchup. Broncos do enough on the ground to win it.
