This line was heading toward Texans -3 before the Eagles upset the Rams on Sunday night, and as a result the market has overadjusted. Even though Nick Foles is a competent backup, the Eagles are still a flawed team, especially in the secondary. They took advantage of a poor performance from Jared Goff, but Houston hasn't turned the ball over at all in seven of their last eight games. The Texans will be at max motivation with the possibility of the No. 2 seed in play, and they've proven to be a much better team than the Eagles over the first 15 weeks.
The Houston Texans still haven't clinched a playoff spot yet, although currently they hold the No. 2 seed if the playoffs were to begin today. So, they still need to come out firing on all cylinders against the Eagles. Nick Foles brings the element of the deep ball to the passing game, but against one of the NFL's best pass rushes, will he have the time to even get the ball downfield? On the flip side, the Texans have the ultimate X-Factor in QB Deshaun Watson. Look for Houston to take care of business on the road.
I love Nick Foles and I like the fact that he targets Alshon Jeffery, and not just the tight end like Carson Wentz did. Foles brings a vertical passing game that the team lacked, and his teammates respond to him. Josh Adam is playing well too. Lay the points.
