The Bears are legit. Chicago's defensive line -- and more specifically, Minnesota's offensive line -- should be the difference in this one. With Khalil Mack healthy, I think the Bears have an opportunity to step up defensively as they had before he went down. When you couple that with Mitchell Trubisky's continued growth and the one-two punch off Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, I don't see how you go wrong here. Dalvin Cook should add a layer to the Vikings' offense, but the Bears will be prepared for that -- or at least be able to mitigate it after a couple quarters. These teams are relatively equal, and Chicago is getting less than a field goal at home in a primetime game. Give me the Bears.
Pivotal game in the NFC North between the Bears and Vikings. This is a HUGE game for both Chicago and QB Mitch Trubisky, who hasn't beaten a team with a winning record this season. Defensively, when you look at what gives Vikings QB Kirk Cousins problems, it's pressure. He'll see a lot of that in this ball game coming from Khalil Mack & company. What we don't know is how consistent the Vikings can be running the football, which could alleviate some of that pressure coming Cousins' way. Look for the Bears to get a landmark win on the season and put Minnesota in panic mode.
Minnesota's defense is getting healthy and Mitchell Trubisky will not have a good game Sunday night. Dalvin Cook came back before the bye and had 109 yards from scrimmage. That really helps their offense, which already has two top-flight wideouts and a good tight end. The Vikings are better than Chicago and they're getting points.
The Bears are the only team in the league that ranks in the top 10 in pass and rush DVOA on both sides of the ball, and their offense is also ninth in points per drive and eighth in net yards per pass attempt. So this isn't a case of an elite D covering for a bad offense -- this actually looks like a legit playoff contender. At home, they should be getting the full three points, and I expect the Chicago pass rush vs. Minnesota's O-line being the biggest difference.
