This seems like a lot of points to lay, but I'm fading the Jets for two reasons: Sam Darnold looked awful last week in his first exposure to the cold, and conditions should be similar here; and the Jets have a bunch of injuries that could be a factor. Bilal Powell is on IR and the team's top two receivers are likely out, so I don't know how the Jets move the ball at all on the road. The Bears passing game should be fine even with Allen Robinson's injury, as the Jets' secondary is also banged up. Bears avenge last week's fluky loss.
Despite the fact that Bears QB Mitch Trubisky is in his second year, he's still playing like a rookie. The Jets' defense, despite the injuries, still does a great job of applying pressure. I like how the Jets have played over the last three weeks. On the flip side, a Khalil Mack who's not at 100 percent definitely gives the Jets offense a chance to move the ball downfield. With two good defenses, expect a couple of interceptions in this game on both sides, which will keep this one close.
Where has linebacker Khalil Mack who terrorized quarterbacks in September gone? An ankle injury has made him mortal. This pick hinges on him recovering against rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, guilty of four turnovers on Sunday. New York has covered just three times in its past dozen away games. Bears QB Mitch Trubisky’s passing is spotty, but he has unveiled a new weapon — scrambling. Such dynamism has enabled Chicago to average 36 points in its last three outings. Even if that pace slows, the Jets, with injury issues at running back, lack the firepower to keep up.
