Raise your hand if you've been tricked by Ryan Fitzpatrick before. That should be anyone reading this. This is not to take away from what Fitz did last week against the Saints, but perhaps that New Orleans defense is nowhere near as improved as it was a year ago? Meanwhile, Philadelphia grinded its way to an opening-week win and looked just as capable defensively as it did a year ago. I think the Eagles' offense is being undervalued with Nick Foles behind center, and there's little problem for me backing the defending champions by a field goal against a Bucs team that does not have the horses to match up.
This line could hit 3.5 so I'm acting now. The champs still aren't getting enough credit from oddsmakers or the public. Look for Philly's offense to wake up and for the Eagles to benefit from the extra days off.
There was a huge swing in the line after the Bucs shredded the Saints in Week 1, as the Eagles were -6 on the lookahead number. The Eagles offense didn't look great against the Falcons, but they should do much better against this secondary. Remember: FitzMagic giveth, and FitzMagic taketh away. Eagles defense rolls in this matchup and gives the defending champs an easy win.
