I rank the Colts defense last in the NFL, seven points below the average defense. Last year they finished 29th in the league allowing 5.9 yards per play. In week one they ranked 25th yards per pass allowed and 29th in yards per rush allowed at 5.1 yards. Andrew Luck returns to bolster the offense which also features T.Y. Hilton.
The Colts defense is going to be a mess this year, but I can't pass up the great value we're getting here. The Colts were +2.5 on the lookahead line, but after Washington won with ease in Week 1, the line opened a full three points higher. I like the backdoor potential Andrew Luck is going to have in the fourth quarter of games this year, and even if Indy is down 10-12 late, I think we get a cover. These teams are closer to even than Week 1 would have you believe.
I'm going to be all over Indy Overs this season, with Andrew Luck healthy and the defense in a bad way. Washington's offense looked more than capable of holding up their end of the bargain in Week 1 with Alex Smith at quarterback and the running game doing a solid job. I like the Colts to put up some garbage-time points if they're down two scores in the fourth quarter and push this Over if we still need it.
Andrew Luck looked a lot like his old self in the Colts opener, but the Indy wasn't able to run the ball. The Colts averaged 3.4 yards per carry against the Bengals and will run into a Washington defense that held David Johnson to 37 yards on nine carries. Lay the points with Washington.
