How rare is it for the Dolphins to open the season at home? This will be just the first time since 2014 and second time since 2011 that it will happen. While Miami will be missing DeVante Parker, it has gone through what I consider a strong offseason with a decent draft that has bolstered some important positions. Most important of all, of course, is the return of Ryan Tannehill behind center. Tannehill looked solid in preseason action, and his receiving corps of Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson and Danny Amendola may not be spectacular, but it can be effective. I'll back the home team here, but admittedly, this one could go either way.
The Titans will be better offensively as the year goes along, but I'm betting they start out slow. Miami's defensive line is looking good, even without Ndamukong Suh. Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake should have a nice game against a Tennessee team hurting at linebacker. Play the home dog.
The Dolphins have a surprisingly strong home-field advantage, and they're upgrading at quarterback this year with the return of Ryan Tannehill. Kenyan Drake was one of the league's best runners at the end of the year. The Titans still need to prove they deserve to be road favorites against anyone, and I like them less in this matchup with four key players limited in practice this week as they recover from various injuries..
