The Seahawks gained 136 yards of total offense last week. With the Cardinals' strong track record in Seattle, I'm taking the points.
The Seahawks still have a chance to get into the playoffs. It all starts with them taking care of business and winning the game Sunday. This may be the last game for Bruce Arians as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. This game will be well played on both sides, and should come down the wire.
Seattle obviously needs this game more, but Arizona is having a better season than you probably think. At 7-8, they could avoid back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 2005-06. They have an excellent defense that is peaking in December, and they would certainly love to deal their rivals the knockout punch. Seattle's offense has been MIA the last two weeks, and it's possible all the shots are getting to Russell Wilson late in the year. The Seahawks haven't been invincible at home, losing three of their last four in Seattle, and they'll have a tough time here too.
Arizona coach Bruce Arians is 3-1 at Seattle during his tenure as Cardinals coach. His teams have twice handed the Seahawks their lone home loss of the season. Look for Arizona to be stubborn again Sunday against a Seattle team that must win in order keep its slim playoff hopes on life support. The Cardinals have struggled on offense but have been consistent on defense, with the NFL's No. 6-ranked unit. This should be enough to keep them close. Moreover, the road team is on a 4-0-1 ATS run in this series, and the underdog is 5-0-1.
This total opened at 41 and the Under was immediately snatched up. While I wasn't able to get in on that opener, I'll still take the Under here. Arizona's has played well this year, helping get the team to 7-8, and they're peaking in December, giving up seven points to Tennessee and shutting out the Giants. Seattle's offense has struggled mightily over the last two weeks, being held under 150 total yards in each game. On the other side of the ball, I don't see Drew Stanton doing much against this defense in Seattle. I expect this to be a low-scoring, close game.
