Jumping in on the Bills before the line increases past a field goal. Buffalo has a rested defense at home coming off a bye going up against a banged-up Tampa Bay squad that is not necessarily great when healthy. I'm expecting LeSean McCoy to have a big day. This is a small price to pay.
The Bills are rested and bring the league's top scoring defense into Sunday's matchup against visiting Tampa Bay, which has had an arduous travel schedule. Jameis Winston is playing through a sprained AC joint. LeSean McCoy should feast on a defense allowing 5.2 yards per carry the past two weeks. Lay the field goal.
The Bills have several things going for them in this spot. First, they're coming off a bye week with a coach that's been impressive thus far, and he should have a great plan in place to take advantage of a beat-up Bucs defense. It looks like Jordan Matthews will be active, and that gives Tyrod Taylor a reliable option in the passing game. Jameis Winston was injured in Week 6 and couldn't return to the game, so even though he's been announced as the starter in this matchup, he's going to be nowhere near 100 percent. Give Buffalo the advantage on both sides of the ball here and grab -3 while you still can.
Buffalo has been outgained in its last four games, but the Bills have an idea how to win and best of all, how to cover. They've covered four of five this season, including both their home games. The Bucs got a banged up QB and they continually underachieve and haven't covered a spread in their last four. Last week's first-half performance at Arizona was very telling. Bills get the cover.
The Bills are rested, they have the league's No. 1 scoring defense, and the Bucs are playing their second straight road game following a cross-country trip. Tampa Bay QB Jameis Winston is dealing with a shoulder injury. In my simulations, even with Winston playing, Buffalo is winning by double digits and covering 65 percent of the time.
