The Bears are so desperate for a quarterback savior that they publicly spun rookie Mitch Trubisky’s debut positively to an extreme. He connected on fewer than half of his 25 passes and had two picks. Uh-oh. The Ravens’ nine interceptions rank second, and coach Jim Harbaugh is 9-0 straight-up in Baltimore against first-year QBs. Baltimore flat-out stunk for two weeks, then took a turn for the better last Sunday against the Raiders — albeit without QB David Carr on the field for Oakland. The Bears were turnover-prone before Trubisky replaced Mike Glennon, so their dilemma might not worsen. It’s bad enough already, which sets the Ravens up nicely for a cover.
I'm not a big believer in Baltimore's offense considering all the line injuries they've had to deal with, but they undoubtedly have a strong defense. That's going to make it hard for Mitchell Trubisky, who's playing this game on short rest, to have success in his first career road start. The Bears seemed to throw the kitchen sink at the Vikings on Monday and still came away with the loss; now, the Ravens have tape on what a Trubisky offense looks like. I expect at least one defensive score from Baltimore and a strong performance by the Ravens' rushing game to carry the day.
Chicago rookie Mitchell Trubisky will be making his second start. This will also be his second outing against a top defense team. The Bears can compete and they'll keep this one tight.
I'm thrilled to get this at under a touchdown. Baltimore, with its elite defense facing a rookie QB, is covering nearly 60 percent of my simulations. The Bears were blown out in their first two road games and I see another double-digit loss here. Lay the points.
