With both teams traveling from California to New York, this feels like an arguable point spread. While the Dolphins should be favored, a 6-point line is a bit of a stretch. Grab the points here.
This is a hunch play based on the Dolphins’ uprooting by Hurricane Irma. Miami was forced to head west more than a week before its delayed opener against the Chargers. After an emotional win, the Dolphins returned home, practiced for a few days and jetted toward New York in what shapes up as a letdown Sunday. Miami will continue to break new QB Jay Cutler in slowly with another conservative game plan. The scoring should be modest enough to let New York hang within the spread.
There aren't many games where you should feel good about backing the Jets this year, but this is the perfect spot for them. Miami has been on the road all month due to Hurricane Irma, and they have to head across the pond for a London game in Week 4. The Dolphins defense could also be susceptible to a backdoor cover if they're up in the fourth quarter. Several of Miami's skill players are also questionable entering the game, including Jay Ajayi, DeVante Parker and Jarvis Landry. This is a great chance to give them a little rest throughout this game, bringing the Dolphins' offensive ceiling down overall.
