The Texans need to win at home against Cincinnati to stay in control of the AFC South. The loss of Vontaze Burfict on defense and Tyler Eifert on offense leave some serious holes to be filled for the Bengals. Look for the Texans defense to provide Tom Savage with good field position that allows the offense to score enough points to come away with a win on their home field.
The Texans made a QB switch last week and engineered a comeback win. While Brock Osweiler may still be the better quarterback, the thing I like about Tom Savage is that he's much more conservative. I don't want to say smarter, but the simple plays and fewer turnovers are all Houston needs to be successful when having the NFL's No. 1-ranked defense. I think Cincinnati's defense also will play well. The last three meetings have stayed Under and I ‘m looking for a fourth.
The Bengals are seriously banged-up after their hard-fought home loss to their biggest rivals, the Steelers. Vontaze Burfict looks unlikely to play due to a concussion, and Tyler Eifert's status is in doubt too. Among others. Houston has new life thanks to its QB change and needs this win at home to stay in control of the AFC South.
The Bengals just lost their big rivalry game at home against the Steelers despite the defense surrendering just one touchdown. They have nothing left to play for, and there's no way they show up to battle on the road against the Texans. Houston is in the middle of a fight for their division title and finally is playing Tom Savage, who's had three years to pick up Bill O'Brien's offense and who looked a million times better than Brock Osweiler in leading the Texans to a comeback win last week. The Texans aren't a great team, but this is a great spot for them.
Tom Savage will get the start at QB after saving the Texans' playoff hopes with a comeback victory last week. Expect the Bengals to feast on a QB who, despite Sunday's performance, still has accuracy issues. They plagued him at Pitt and they'll crop up again this week. Grab the points.
