I'm going to side with the public here and back the Seahawks, as I think they will build on last week’s breakout performance. The Eagles are a talented and dangerous young team, but they also have extreme home-road splits, with just one victory away from Philadelphia. Lack of poise down the stretch cost them potential road wins against Dallas and New York, and Seattle is a more difficult environment than either of those.Seattle covers for a second straight week.
It's a matchup of great defenses. But it comes down to which QB you trust more. That easily tilts toward Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. They're starting to hit their stride and will roll in this one.
The advanced line for this game had Seattle favored by 4.5 or five points, but after the Seahawks won a close game against the Pats, they've been made even bigger favorites. Don't forget that the Eagles notched an impressive win as well, and they have a far more dangerous pass rush than the Patriots do, which should help exploit Seattle's weakness on the offense line. Michael Bennett isn't expected back this week, which saps some of the upside out of the Seahawks defense. This game should be far close than this line suggests, and I'll gladly take this many points.
The Eagles have been incredible at home, especially on defense, but on the road is another story where their only win has come at Chicago. Philly is 0-4 ATS on the road. Russell Wilson just played his best game of the season and it came against the best team in the league. He's apparently healthy again and I expect his upward trend to continue Sunday. The number is right where it should be if we consider the Eagles' overall rating, but Philly gets downgraded on the road, making the current spread advantageous. This is November, which means its go-time for Seattle.
