Anthony Edwards is out for the Wolves and a large chunk of those shots should go to Jaden McDaniels, who already has topped this number in five straight games and is averaging 15.5 ppg this month.
The Timberwolves are scuffling, having lost three in-a-row and five of six games. Now Anthony Edwards joins Karl-Anthony Towns on the sidelines for the second straight game, so Minnesota needs additional role players to make plays. The player I'm targeting tonight is Kyle Anderson, who in March, has scored in double-digits six times (out of eight) and is averaging seven rebounds and eight assists per night. He's had two triple-doubles this month, and for the Wolves to keep it close tonight, he may need to have a third. As long as this game isn't a 15+ point blowout, I expect Anderson to exceed his points+rebounds+assists prop this evening.
Taking a shot on Jaden McDaniels who has eclipsed this combination line in nine of his previous fourteen appearances, including five consecutive games. Anthony Edwards is listed as Questionable but looks closer to doubtful. McDaniels attempted 14 shots and finished with 18 points in the only game that Edwards has missed this season. AE is one of the higher usage players and if he is forced to sit, I expect McDaniels to absorb a good chunk of that. Rudy Gobert is also questionable which could lead to some additional rebounding opportunities. McDaniels has proven capable of clearing this line even in the off chance both players suit up, and this line will likely move to 22.5 or 23.5 if both players are inactive today.
Both teams come into this game with plenty to play for as the Knicks continue to jockey for seeding, while the Timberwolves are merely trying to stay in the playoff hunt. The similarities end there, however, as Jalen Brunson is back for New York and the Knicks are much healthier than the Timberwolves. We know the Wolves remain without Karl-Anthony Towns (calf), but it also appears likely that Anthony Edwards (ankle) will be out along with Jaylen Nowell (knee). A healthy Knicks team at home will simply be too much and they win this game by double figures.
